12 weeks | Miss V

I can’t believe our babe is 12 weeks old tomorrow.
There are moments where it feels like I just met her for the first time and held her in my arms, the moment when suddenly everything in the world was perfect because she had arrived & she was more wonderful than I ever could have dreamed of.
Then there are moments where I feel like she’s been a part of our little family forever, maybe because somewhere deep in my heart - and in God’s plan - she always has been a part of our family. It amazes me that out of our relationship, our marriage, came something so perfect. Olivia Bea is the combination of me & Dustin - a perfect little soul that came to be because of God’s love for US and our love for one another. She is our little soul & so very dear to us both.
Though I am laying in bed in the dark, tired from the day and feeling like I could sleep for a week straight, I am just so very blessed to be a mom, and to be HER mom, despite the exhaustion. She is my crown jewel & there is nothing better in the world than seeing her smile at my face, knowing she knows I’m her mommy.
Below is one of my favorite poems - one I think about all the time when I am thinking about Via, titled “You Are My I Love You” by Maryann K Cusimano
I am your parent you are my child
I am your quiet place, you are my wild
I am your calm face, you are my giggle
I am your wait, you are my wiggle
I am your audience, you are my clown
I am your London Bridge, you are my falling down
I am your Carrot Sticks, you are my licorice
I am your dandelion, you are my first wish
I am your water wings, you are my deep
I am your open arms, you are my running leap
I am your way home, you are my new path
I am your dry towel, you are my wet bath
I am your dinner you are my chocolate cake
I am your bedtime, you are my wide awake
I am your finish line, you are my race
I am your praying hands, you are my saving grace
I am your favourite book, you are my new lines
I am your nightlight, you are my sunshine
I am your lullaby, you are my peek-a-boo
I am your kiss goodnight, you are my I love you
Check back soon for posts on being a stay-at-home Mom and the story of Olivia’s name.
I also plan to share some of my “top tot shops” for stylish baby gear & some more of my favorite recipes, including butterfinger malts & roasted pecan vinaigrette.
I have plans & plans & lots of ideas but little time to write it all down, so for now, here’s a photo of “our little soul.”
Happy Thursday-eve (which really means it’s almost Friday). Hooray.
