While many parts of Olivia's nursery have stayed the same since before she was born, we've also added little touches here and there to make it even more special. Her nursery is truly my favorite room in our home; it evokes feelings of joy, playfulness & elegance. It is of course the place she sleeps, and honestly, as a Mama, watching your baby sleep is a gift unlike any other because there is such a peace in their little spirit and the whole world is quiet as you watch your babe breathe softly and you think of all the dreams they're having. It is also the place I get her dressed in the morning, the place I snuggle her before nap time, and the place I read bedtime stories with her. It is more perfect than I could have ever hoped for and every day I find something new to appreciate about it.
From the gorgeous one-of-a-kind chandelier [we are all about fancy light fixtures around here] to the bold tiffany blue walls and every detail in between, welcome to Our Nursery...
The chandelier is really the centerpiece of the room. It hung over Olivia as she slept in her bassinet as a newborn and now it provides brilliant light for all her playing and exploring and can be dimmed for soft light before bedtime.
Above Olivia's crib hangs a gallery wall of sorts with our favorite prints & special custom pieces. To the far right are three floating book shelves.
Olivia's middle name comes from her Great Grandma Beatrice, and [my] Grandma Bea gave us this baby photo of her from 1927 that we have framed in Via's nursery. The piggy bank is one of my favorite parts, made from a branch of wood & so rustic and charming.
Another favorite part of the nursery is the book nook, complete with a comfy rocking chair & all of Olivia's favorite books. I love to write letters to Olivia in the inside covers of books and change them out on the shelves each season.
I love finding unique & vibrant pillows and blankets for Olivia's crib. The beautiful "Sweet Dreams" pillow [pictured below] was a 1st Birthday gift to Olivia from Danielle of Drawstring Studio. She handmakes a wide variety of beautiful nursery bedding, curtains and of course gorgeous pillows!

The chandelier gives the walls a beautiful "ripple" effect which adds to the whimsical feeling of the whole space. Something we didn't even plan for but fell in love with when we noticed!
There is a large window which gives beautiful sunlight most of the day and Mr. Fox sits on our rocking chair along with a woodland quilt that was a gift from my parents last Christmas and a pillow I got during my pregnancy.
I love finding unique black and white prints that encourage Olivia to be herself and to continue to nurture her playful spirit.
We hung Olivia's tassel garland up in her nursery after her 1st Birthday party and I love how much it adds to the whole feel of the room! I also couldn't resist hanging up this vintage baby poster and that may be my favorite piece of art ever.
Her B+W quilt was a special birthday gift from Dustin & I and I am so excited to see all the memories it will hold over the years to come.
The beautiful doll pictured below is from the sweetest Mama, Katy, owner of Sweet Littles Handmade. It was a 1st Birthday gift for Olivia in conjunction with her Shop Spotlight and she even sports a customized "1" cape & matching tutu.

We wanted to create a room as unique and playful as Olivia is & I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into our special space. It was such a joy to step back and photograph it all after a busy year of using it with our little girl.
